Do I Really Need a Makeup Artist for Commercials and Video?

I am passionate about makeup and beauty. When it comes to different mediums such as print or video, there are different techniques and types of makeup in which to use.

That being said, the honest answer to this question is a resounding "YES". A professional makeup artist knows the nuances that accompany video, whether it be commercials or a motion picture. High-resolution video requires high-resolution makeup that can cover imperfections, prevent the "washed-out" look, and ensure even, smooth coverage. I enjoy video projects, and during the 7 years I spent in Las Vegas working on commercials, I perfected my knowledge of what type, color, and technique for makeup that is needed for a flawless and natural look on camera.

My time in Las Vegas taught me the skills necessary for commercials and video. Below are a few people I had the honor to work with: Tony Curtis (left) and Carlos Santana (right).

Below is a commercial that I worked on for Ichor. Because athletes sweat, I used top quality HD foundation that is designed to be waterproof and sweat proof by Make Up For Ever, the best film makeup from Paris, which I was trained to use for two years in Vienna. As you can see in the commercial, the effect is perfectly flawless skin, especially for HDTV!
